I found an interesting article in The Mail on Sunday from January 8th 2006 and it will be interesting to see how this develops.
It claims that many British Lawyers are flocking to France after an EU ruling that has loosened the grip of state controlled officials on all property conveyancing.
Up until this point any British law firm practicing in France had to work hand in glove with the Notaries for all property buying. According to the mail they will now be in a position to handle the whole process.
The move has been a long time coming as the Notaires have enjoyed a competition free environment and have been able to make good money without fear of the you going somewhere else.
I will keep my eye on this and update this section in due course.
